Desk Drive is a file that can be downloaded to help manage USB removable devices in a more convenient way. It automatically creates a desktop shortcut every time a USB device is connected to the computer, making it easier to access the USB content.
This functionality is similar to how USB memory sticks are handled in Mac OS and Linux, so if you're familiar with those operating systems and miss that feature in Windows, Desk Drive is the perfect solution for you.
The program is incredibly user-friendly. Once launched, it will remain in the system tray, waiting for a USB device to be plugged in. As soon as a device is connected, Desk Drive will create a desktop shortcut for quick access to the USB content.
One recommendation is to disable the autoplay window, as it can interrupt the process and make the program less useful. However, once the autoplay dialog window is disabled, Desk Drive provides a comfortable USB memory device management experience on Windows, similar to that of Mac OS and Linux.
This update specifically addresses an occasional but persistent crash that occurred when removing drive media.
